EMPI Alumni in the News for work on YRTL Campaign
Mr. Harsh Agarwal, Lowe-Lintas, Gurgaon and an Alumni of EMPI’s PGDM AdCoM 2010-12 Batch, was appreciated for his work in The Hindustan Times’ recent campaign "You Read They Learn (YRTL)". This Campaign is listed in the Limca Books of Record for printing more than 10 Lakh Textbooks in a newspaper, in a day.  The campaign has been nominated for the prestigious Effie Awards this year too.

‘You Read, They Learn’ is a year-long initiative by Hindustan Times to help educate underprivileged children. It was initially launched on 18th April 2012 in Delhi-NCR. As a part of YRTL, HT will contribute 5 Paise every day for every Metro copy of Hindustan Times that is sold in Delhi-NCR towards creating a corpus to fund the education of over 10,000 children over the year. Thus, every time a reader picks up a copy of Hindustan Times, a child goes to school. In addition, HT will raise the issue of children’s education rights and focus on the problems that need immediate attention and will strive to find solutions.

To build on that initiative, Hindustan Times printed a beginner's textbook in every copy of the newspaper in Delhi NCR on 19 April, 2012. In line with the initiative's mission to help educate underprivileged children, every page of the newspaper included a page of a textbook. Following three simple steps, readers can cut out these pages, staple them together to form a textbook and then, share it with an underprivileged child. In addition, textbooks were also inserted in copies of Mint and Hindustan circulated in Delhi-NCR.

EMPI is proud to hear about Harsh’s role in this public service advertising campaign. We wish him all success in his endeavours.
